Jen Olson is a nurse and has baked thousands of cupcakes. She has been baking since she was ten years old. “I hold a personal belief that you are what you eat…..and too be a sweet person on the inside with a beautiful creamy outside is good! Cupcakes hold a special place in the world of delectable delights because they come in that small personal size and in a wide variety of flavors allowing the creators to be ultimately imaginative. Cupcakes should not only be delicious but fun! I have been searching the world over for the most exciting and delicious cupcakes for many years.” Jen has gathered recipes from various places around the world and one of her favorite spices to bake with is cardamom.
Mayor Bill Collins is a native South Carolinian and a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Journalism. He worked as a reporter in Myrtle Beach and Atlanta before moving to Summerville in 1972 to start The Summerville Journal. He published The Summerville Journal Scene for 35 years. After selling his newspapers, Bill retired in 2007. In May 2011, Bill was elected Mayor of Summerville. Bill and his wife, Margaret, have two married children and six grandchildren. They are members of Summerville Presbyterian Church.
Mark Hample is a Summerville resident and a Culinary Arts Institute graduate whose resume includes working for renowned restaurants including Resorts International and The Waldorf Astoria. Currently, Mark is the Director of Controlling for North America/Latin America Supply Chain at Husqvarna.
